Audience Etiquette

Audience Etiquette helps make everyone's Festival experience a positive one!

  • Please respect all Festival-goers by bringing children who are within the recommended age for each show.

  • Please be prepared to remove your children from the theatre if they cry or become disruptive.

  • Allow time to park.

  • Arrive on time for your show. Latecomers will be admitted ONLY if there is a suitable break in the performance.

  • Go to the washroom before entering the theatre. You can disrupt the performance for everyone by entering and leaving during the show. Some more intimate shows may not allow for re-entry once a performance has begun.

  • Plan to stay for the entire performance.

  • Help your children to understand the difference between "listening shows" such as theatre presentations, and "participatory shows" such as music performances.

  • Audience members can show respect for performers and other audience members by not talking or moving from their seats unless the performer invites them to participate.

  • No camera, recording devices, cellular phones, hand-held video games, food or drink in the theatres, please.

  • If you liked what you saw during the performance, the performers love to hear your applause at the end of the show.
