Volunteer Guidelines
Volunteers must be a minimum of 14 years of age to volunteer on their own. Youth under 14 must volunteer with an adult. Volunteers under the age of 18 require parental consent. Please complete the consent portion of the application.
Volunteer shifts and placements are subject to change (notice will be given whenever possible).
Volunteers are expected to portray a positive Festival image to the public.
Volunteers must treat other volunteers, performers, staff and public with dignity and respect.
In the event of any difficulty volunteers must contact their team leaders or the Volunteer Coordinator.
Volunteers MUST attend one of the Volunteer Orientations happening on Monday May 3, 2010 OR Monday May 10, 2010 in the Engineered Air Theatre

Monday, May 10, 2010 OREO 1: 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm OREO 2: 8:00pm to 9:30 pm
OREO 1 - Covers all the Outdoor Activities including Face Painting, Wax Hands, Portable Art, Scholar's Choice, Chalk Wall, Comics Corner, Inflatable Maze, Nylon Zoo, Hands-on-Playground, Tunes Tent, Qualico's Clayground, Paper Marbling, Science Alberta Activities, Lunch Time Floater Crew, Theatre Games and any other site activities.
OREO 2 - Covers Traffic Crew, Ambassador Crew, Workshop Ambassador, Volunteer Check-in, Artist and Volunteer Hospitality, Lost & Found, Info/Media Check-in, Front of House (Ushers) and Artists' Merchandise Sales.
Please RSVP on the application which night you will be attending the orientation. It is mandatory to attend one of the Volunteer Orientations.
Security Check Process for Applicants 18+
Applicants 18 and older must come in for a police check.
PLEASE NOTE: These are now done on a yearly basis. Applications will not be processed until the security check has been completed.
SECURITY CHECK PROCESS
This simple procedure involves you coming down to our office, completing the Calgary Police form and photocopying your identification. We require you to bring 2 pieces of identification:
A Drivers License OR Passport
Health Care Card OR Social Insurance OR Birth Certificate

1 ticket to a performance for every volunteer shift worked **
Volunteer Hospitality (refreshments before and after your shift)
Lunch will be provided for volunteers working 2 shifts in a day
Invitation to Closing Night Party and Volunteer Appreciation Show
** Volunteer Ticket Order Form will be included with your Volunteer Schedule. Ticket order forms must be filled out and faxed to the office no later than Monday May 24, 2010. Shows are subject to availability.
PLEASE NOTE: All volunteers require a ticket to get into a performance. Tickets can be picked up at the Volunteer Check-in starting May 25, 2010. Please make your selections carefully. Tickets cannot be exchanged once the Festival has started.
