The Calgary International Children's Festival is a CBE DESIGNATED SITE
Enjoy our free activities on Olympic Plaza before, between, or after your visit to the fabulous performances in the EPCOR CENTRE for the Performing Arts and the W.R. Castell Library.

Qualico Communities Qualico's Clayground
Dig into some clay and create you own miniature masterpiece. Add your creation to the sculpture and watch the community expand through the week.
 
The Labyrinth Inflatable Maze
New to the Festival, this activity is a ten-minute challenge the whole family can enjoy! Small groups or families can enter and discover the fun of solving the maze together or individuals can walk through the labyrinth on their own personal quest to find a way out!
 
Whale Tales Storytelling
Enter a giant inflatable whale and discover sensational stories from around the globe presented by Calgary's Kids' Play Klassics Theatre Company.
Expro
Face Painting
Professional face painters are onsite to transform your beautiful face into an artistic masterpiece in just minutes! Even adults won't be able to resist getting a dragon or butterfly on their cheek!
 
Create A Kite Program
Look around the Festival site and you will see a multitude of colourful kites showcasing the visual art and design skills of 100 Calgary Public and Separate School classes!
 
Olympic Plaza Outdoor Stage
Enjoy live performances by Splash'N Boots, The Sizeable Men, BONKERS! and Sand Northrup as well as The Trickster Project - a project where you can experience the creative talents of 80 young people involved in the CICF and Green Fools Theatre's physical theatre camp. Alberta Milk
Moovin' Groovin' Tunes Tent
Here is a chance to showcase your singing talent. Belt out a tune as a solo performer or with a group of friends. Who knows...you might just be Calgary's next karaoke sensation!!!
 
Chalk "Art" Wall
Check out the Festival's new chalk ART wall located on the south side of the Olympic Plaza pool! Grab a piece of chalk and create your own colourful masterpiece!
Youthink
Youthink Comics Corner
New to the Festival, YouthInk Comics Corner offers kids, 9 to 14, the opportunity to create, illustrate and colour their own comics. If you like to draw, this is the place for you! Come and share your artistic talents in a creative atmosphere and get the chance to see your work published in YouthInk's bi-annual publication, YouthInkIT Magazine.
 
Wax Hands
For a toonie you can dip your hand into a vat of warm wax, add beautiful bright colours and presto! - You have a colourful, wax model of your hand that you can keep as a souvenir for years to come.
Scholar's Choice
Portable Art & Scholar's Choice Activity Centre
In this year's Portable Art Tent you can shake, rattle and roll with a musical instrument you create yourself! OR, check out the Scholar's Choice Activity Centre for a hands-on creative challenge that will keep you busy until the next show!
 
Media and Information Tent
Volunteers will answer your questions, help you find your way, provide updates and hand out brochures. This tent also serves as check-in for all media, providing nametags, press kits, and parking passes as needed. All media, including videographers, photographers and technicians must be checked in.
MacCon Security
Safe and Sound Lost and Found Program
Festival staff work with security experts to ensure a safe Festival site. Drop by the Lost and Found tent to find out more about our safety programs.
Southland Transportation
The General Store
Stop in the General Store and you'll discover a variety of souvenirs, toys, t-shirts, and performer CDs at child-friendly prices!
St. George Moving and Storage
The Lunch Box
Schools and groups can store lunches here while attending Festival performances.
 
SuperHeroes and Heroes
SuperHero Qualico Communities will have a busy, activity-filled tent throughout the Festival. Look for other special attractions and displays provided by our SuperHero and Hero sponsors.

Baraka's on-site food and beverages provide for your needs during daytime hours. A portion of proceeds help Festival operations. Please support this vendor.
