Professional Development Master Classes

University of CalgaryIn conjunction with the University of Calgary's Fine Arts Associates Program, these classes are offered to teachers, theatre professionals, and anyone interested in exploring various aspects of the performing arts. All master classes are for ages 18 and up and are conducted by professional artists. Cost is $25 per person. Pre-registration is required by calling the Festival Box Office at 403.294.7482.

Aché Brasil

Capoeira is an astonishing display of acrobatics, breathtaking kicks and self defense tactics performed to music. Created as a way to free slaves from their oppressors, Capoeira has evolved into one of the most hypnotic art forms to emerge from Brazil. Mestre Eclilson de Jesus was the first person to bring Capoeira to Canada and has taught this unique martial art/movement form for over twenty years.
