Picture by picture, she opens a world to her audience, full of fantasy and serenity... An original, utterly enchanting creation.
The Telstra Adelaide Festival
Every once in a while, we discover a performance that's like a secret we can't wait to share! Horta Van Hoye stands alone on an empty stage lit by a single lamp. Unfurling a length of newsprint, she uses rubber bands and clothespins to pinch, tweak and crumple it. Suddenly, she is no longer alone! The stage is transformed and rolls of recycled paper become three-dimensional characters which quickly assume vibrant lives of their own. The characters tell their stories and secrets; they even dance to charm us. This intriguing and inventive mix of storytelling and living sculpture is not to be missed!
