Shopping for Shoes is a story about passion and fashion and hearts and soles!

Visible Fictions Theatre

Siobhan McClusky is a politically aware 13 year-old Scottish girl who is passionate about global trade, multi-national conglomerates, and climate change. Siobhan is also somewhat passionate about getting Shaun Holmes to notice her. Shaun is also 13 but his only passion is - shoes. Shaun has over 60 pairs: Nike Air Jordan™, Air Max Aggressor™, Gazelle™, Corduroy Adidas™...his collection seems endless. Shaun’s shoes express the essence of who he is and his philosophy on life is echoed by the Nike™ logo - “JUST DO IT”. Even though a piece of Siobhan’s heart belongs to Shaun, she knows she’ll have trouble getting him to notice her. Using her smarts and a little fancy footwork, Siobhan manages to help Shaun discover that there’s more to life than shoes...

Shopping for Shoes is a funny, heart warming tale of new found teenage love that also deals with obsessions over brand names and global trade issues in a thought provoking and humorous way that young people can relate to.
