This is a chance for your students to participate in a dynamic interactive
90-minute theatre experience. SN@P! is a forum theatre based project;
created by Mariette Sluyter, the Foundation Lab, and a group of Calgary
young people, to explore key issues and concerns that influence the lives
of teens. The performance is 30 minutes in length and is followed by a 60-
minute interactive discussion, enabling teens to explore strategies that
offer conflict resolution in positive non-violent ways. During the discussion
period, SN@P!’s moderator may encourage individual members of the
audience to actively explore his/her method of conflict resolution by taking
the place of a specific character and reenacting the scenario towards a
positive resolution. The Foundation Lab’s SN@P! is a Festival commission
that brings young people together as a creative means of encouraging
social acceptance amongst teens.
