"I’ve seen a lot of Broadway shows and this is the best
play I’ve ever seen!"
Student, Stratford Ontario
The Spirit of Harriet Tubman is a powerful one-woman show exploring the
life of Harriet Tubman, from her earliest experiences as a slave through
her work on the Underground Railroad. A finalist for a 1999 Chalmers
Award, this inspiring play shares the story of one remarkable woman’s
unyielding search for freedom, equality and social justice. For anyone not
familiar with the history of the Underground Railroad this play is a definite
must see! Leslie McCurdy’s dramatization of life in times of slavery is
an inspirational look at the power of the spirit and the will to overcome
tremendous odds for the ultimate reward: freedom.
