THERE'S A WORLD OF CREATIVE LEARNING AT YOUR FINGERTIPS!

WE ARE AT YOUR SERVICE. LET US HELP YOU WITH YOUR CLASSROOM PLANNING. WE'VE CUSTOMIZED THIS TEACHER - FRIENDLY WEBSITE FOR AN OCTOBER RELEASE.

At the Calgary International
Children’s Festival we value
the importance of creativity,
critical thinking, diversity,
and cultural understanding.
In fact, we value these traits
so much, each year we
celebrate them through
music, storytelling, dance,
and theatre.

We are proud to provide
students with an innovative
arts program that makes learning
an inspirational experience. As you look through this website you will discover a wealth of educational enrichment that is guaranteed to spice up the curriculum and engage your students.

Our 2008 Festival is bursting with a variety of programming that’s suitable for all ages. Our youngest audiences will discover rhythms and harmonies through Kling Klang and Music with Marnie. Kindergarten to grade 3 students can experience an intimate retelling of the classic, Snow White, or a jazzy up-beat performance of Aesop Bops! Students of all ages will learn the history of Louisiana’s Creole culture through the dynamic music and storytelling of Zydeco master Terrance Simien. Global trade issues are introduced to preteens and teens in Shopping for Shoes, while SN@P! explores peer pressure and conflict resolution. Illstyle and Peace’s performance/demonstrations will take students on an awesome journey through the history of urban dance from the “funky chicken” of the 60’s to the hip hop of today.

These performances are just a small fraction of what you’ll discover in this year’s brochure! I invite you to share a world of discovery with your class and uncover a universe rich with creativity, cultural diversity and imagination.

See you at the Festival!
